Thankful that:

I remembered to buy the medicines I need

Near the restaurant at the Mount Malarayat Golf and Country Club is this horse which looks like an antique to me. And I'm not talking about the rocking horse at the bottom of the page. That went with the kit.

The kit I used, My Country Home is by Pixelfairy Design and is available at her store in Scrappin Digi Kreations. For a look at the preview and to know more about the kit, check out the post immediately below.

Let the fun begin

Thankful that:

Mommy cooked dinner for me

The layout showed another game I participated in at the reunion. We had to get food from a shopping bag but we're not allowed to choose. So whatever we got we had to eat and fast before the next player could play. Unfortunately I got a small packet of cornick/chichacorn (Filipino variant of corn nuts but smaller and crispier). It's not as if I can swallow it whole. Even if I put a handful in my mouth I still had to chew on it otherwise I'd choke. Darn! We lost.

Party game

Thankful that:

my savings account is not yet dormant

This party game is definitely not for kids because it required the wife to grope her husband's body and face for pieces of scotch tape. The couple who got the most pieces of tape wins. We didn't win though. I think we got the lowest number. The couple who won was the one who was married the longest.

Word art is by Word Art World by Jennifer. It's included in her Party On Word Art Pack which is being sold at her store in Gotta Pixel. This pack of word art features 9 images that will add that final touch to your layout. Each image is in an individual .png file and may be recolored to suit your needs.

The kit I used is by Boo Land Designs. Colour Challenge June is one of the kits in her store which I won. (See May 3, 2010 post.)

Thankful that:

even though my freebies were not listed on, my layout was featured therein (not once but twice and on the same page too) with my face clearly visible.

I got the surprise of my life when I saw my face staring back at me in digifree.craft crave. Now it's not only Hansel who has this honor but me as well. (See May 4, 2010 post.) Truly we're a pair.

Three decades ago this enclosed area in Camp John Hay did not exist. True it is nice but I feel that it would have been more nice if it hadn't been put up in the first place.

The kit used for this layout is by Cj's Dreams. It's called Coy Pond and it is available in her store at K-Joi Studios. For product description and preview see post immediately below.

Butterfly freebie quick page

Thankful that:

the savings and loan association at work gave free merienda for those who took part in the election of 3 members of its board of directors

A year ago I wouldn't have imagined myself making a quick page but now here I am sharing one as a freebie. I've surely come a long way.

This quick page was made using Kathy Winters Designs' contribution in Scrappity-Doo-Dah's Customer Appreciation Blog Train (While We Were Out) as a thank you to all their customers who hanged in there with them when there was a problem with their host server.

To everybody who is kind enough to leave a comment, thank you so much. I appreciate your taking the time to do so.

Thankful that:

I was able to have my scrapbook layouts printed

Never word art

Thankful that:

I was still able to go to Mass despite the lateness of the hour

I should have made this word art for DigiScrapStation's May's Font Challenges: Word Art Challenge weeks ago but inspiration didn't strike me till the last hour.

To everybody who is kind enough to leave a comment, thank you so much. I appreciate your taking the time to do so.

Mr. Fix It

Thankful that:

Hansel called twice: the first when they passed by the island of Mallorca and the second when they were already in Valencia

Truly Hansel can be called Mr. Fix It, for he can fix just about anything.

For this layout I used Snips and Snails Designs' Mr. Fix It kit. It's available in her stores at Divine Digital and Digital Scrap Ink. Everyone has a Mr. Fix It in their life. Whether he's big or small, this bright scrapkit is perfect for capturing him at work on a special project or for showing off the finished project. The kit includes: 19 papers, 2 arrows, 1 belt with tools, 1 belt without tools, 4 bows, 1 button, 1 screw, 2 single photo frames, 3 multi photo frames, 1 caution tape, 1 folded paper, 1 hammer, 1 screwdriver, 1 wrench, 1 hard hat, 1 tangled mess, 2 duct tape pieces, 1 duct tape photo corner, 1 nut, 1 rubber band, 1 washer, and 2 word arts.

Minestrone soup

Thankful that:

by attending the two-day seminar on gender sensitiveness, I will have complied with the MCLE requirement for 2010-2013

Minestrone soup is something I wouldn't normally order at a restaurant famous for ice cream treats. But it was either that or go hungry.

Description for the kit used can be found in the post immediately below.

Hit it Off

Thankful that:

I've been given a reprieve, as an operation is not that urgent

May 22, 2010 is fast approaching so if you have not yet submitted your entries for DigiScrapStation's May's Font Challenges you should do so and soon. The prizes to be given in both challenges are fantastic: font software packages. You can find the challenge rules by clicking on the link above.

Despite the huge age difference Rizza and I hit it off. Incidentally this is my second entry to DigiScrapStation's May's Font Challenges.

The kit used is by Benilda Scraps. It's called Autumn Leaves Kit and it is available at DigiScrapStation. The colors used in the kit (which is being sold at $6.00) are just great. You'll love it. There are 33 papers, 101 elements and a complete alpha with 74 letters, nunbers and symbols.

Butterfly and Hall of Justice

Thankful that:

I was able to get the results of my blood test even without the receipt

I just love how the spread wings of this butterfly were able to mimic the petals of the flower behind it.

The Justice Calixto O. Zaldivar Bulwagan ng Katarungan (Hall of Justice) is located near the Post Office in San Jose de Buenavista.

The kit used in these layouts are by Designs In Digital Collabs. It's called * *~* See How They Grow - May '10 Collab *~* *. The kit is sold for $6.65 at Designs in Digital. The inspiration for this sweet collab from the talented and growing design team at Designs in Digital are the gardens and children who seem to all have growth spurts too. The collab contains 65 papers, 86 unique elements, 1 alpha, and 1 template.

I love dining out. The following layouts will attest to that: the first was taken at G-Point with Wina and Gemma and the second at Max's Restaurant with Eli.

The kit used for these layouts are by Steadfast and Immovable. It's called Integrity and it is available at her shops in Scrap it Sassy! and Digi Style Designs. The kit is predominantly purple with the lighthouses custom made by her.

Flowers in Baguio City

Thankful that:

when I applied with two designers yesterday for a slot on their CT teams they both accepted my applications: Kathy Winters Designs and Steadfast and Immovable

Oops! I nearly forgot to remind you of DigiScrapStation's May's Font Challenges: the first is the Font Layout Challenge and the second is the Word Art Challenge. The prizes to be given in both challenges are fantastic: font software packages. The contests end on May 22, 2010 so you'd better hurry and post those layouts. You can find the challenge rules at the appropriate forum on DigiScrapStation by clicking on the link.

I took pictures of the flowers in Baguio City last year and it's the same this year. One just can't go to Baguio City without taking pictures of the flowers or at the least admiring them.

The kit I used is Scrapz n Bitz Designs' Forever Autumn. It is a truly beautiful kit that is full of gorgeous textured papers with complimentary elements in a range of autumn colours. This kit is not only perfect for your autumn layouts, but is suitable for any occasion throughout the year. It contains 40 textured and plain papers; 52 elements; 3 word arts; 2 plain frames; 2 ribboned frames; 1 clustered frame; and 2 full upper and lower case alpha sets.

Thankful that:

albeit slowly I am getting back into the groove of scrapbooking

Valentine's Day 2008 was celebrated in Mapatag, Hamtic, Antique. We didn't do anything special on that day but what made the day memorable were these pictures of Hansel hamming it up for the camera.

The kit I used is called Whispers of Romance by Kathy Winters Designs. This sweet mini kit is designed with shades of pink and brown and filled with delicate patterned paper and shiny elements. The kit contains 6 papers and 15 elements and includes the following: 2 fabric flowers, 2 paper flowers, 1 paper butterfly, bead spill, 1 pearl ornament, 1 gingham ribbon, 1 multi-film strip frame, 1 single film strip frame, 1 journaling tag folded, 1 torn paper heart, 3 pearls with shadows and 3 without shadows.

Thankful for:

that lady who even though there was a vacant seat on the LRT which was right in front of her allowed me to have that seat: a me who at the time was carrying two shopping bags, one filled with two loaves of bread and the other with 4 coffee table books and 2 paperbacks, not to mention a heavy shoulder bag

Thankful that:

the gap between my two front teeth has been filled

Imagine my shock and surprise when I found my Chef Hansel layout featuring Hansel with the chef hat on the first page of Lori's Freebie List. I wondered what it was doing there. Naturally I clicked the image which took me to Ginger's House. Ginger said that she would post my layout on her blog but I didn't get the chance to check it out for new word art. In any case, I am truly honored and pleased that Ginger chose to feature my layout on her blog and grateful that Lori's freebie finder found the same. Now that I've gotten over the shock of seeing Hansel's face on the freebie list I can't help smiling. After the bad morning I had this is the perfect way to end it. Thank you, kind ladies.

Start of summer

Thankful that:

I won BooLand Design's whole store at Digital Scrapbooking Studio (The Studio) which couldn't have come at a better time because I made a faux pas which was really embarrassing and was making me feel crummy

The layout shows Sprite and me two days before I went back to Manila. I wanted a picture of us with the sea as the background but the setting sun kept wrecking the photos I was taking of us. Eventually she asked somebody to take our picture with the coconut trees in the background.

I used Stephanne's aka Snips and Snails Design Summer Surprises mini kit (her contribution to the blog train) as well as the newsletter freebie for the layout.
